Can anyone tell me how to get blue pen ink off of a butter soft leather handbag?
I have a lime green, butter soft italian leather hobo. It's beautiful, and I ruined it by reaching for an uncovered pen in my bag, and now have a nice blue Nike swish on my beautiful hobo. Can someone tell me how to get the ink off the leather without ruining the integrity of the leather?
Test a small area that you can't see first!!!
Trying spraying the area with aerosol hair spray, and gently wiping. You’ll want to have a paper towel handy, since if it does take the pen off, the ink will run and there is no use in making an even bigger mess. It can take the color out of the leather, so again test a small area that you can’t see first!

Hairspray will take ink off fabric, but I've never tried it on leather. For fabric, spray it on the ink and rub with a soft cloth. What a bummer! Good luck.

Get a piece of clean cotton cloth. Get some hairspray, spray it on the cloth, and rub vigorously on the ink stain a little section at a time. There's an ingredient in the hairspray that acts as a solvent for ink - I've gotten ink marks off dress shirts many times this way. After you've gotten the ink out, use a good leather cleaner to clean off the remaining hairspray, and it should be good as new. Good luck.

Try a little nail polish remover on a paper towel, try it in a small inconspicuous area first to make sure it won't discolor the bag.

Get your self a can of Foam Saddle soap. It is made buy Turtle wax company. You can pick it up at the hard ware store or any store that carries turtle products. You may have to go to the automotive department. I would suggest you spray a cloth and then rub the cloth on the ink.

I used hairspray to remove ink from a leather sofa and and worked beautifully. Just spray it on and wipe off with a damp sponge and keep repeating until ink is gone.
